Bullet Sandwich Steak
A Lean Steak for Big Sandwiches or Quick Meals
Cut from the flank, these Bullet Steaks are perfect for quick frying and serving in deep sandwiches to pair robust flavours, such as a creamy horseradish or a tangy chutney. Being so lean, this steak is perfect for those who prefer less fat cover, or are on a low fat diet. As with all our beef, these steaks are prepared from grass fed beef that’s dry age matured for outstanding eating, making them ideal for mid week meals or hearty lunches.
Also known as Centre Cut Steaks, or simply Bullet Steaks,, these steaks are cut from the flank of the beast, and being very tight in the grain, are exceptionally lean. This is because it comes from a hard working muscle, yet is no less in flavour than other steaks, and by cutting against the grain when serving, the meat loses its tension. Traditionally a favourite for serving in lunch sandwiches, more recently this steak has become a favourite for those on special health diets.
Less prized other prime steaks, the Bullet Steak is a good introduction to the quality of our grass fed beef. These lean slices of beef are ideal served in sandwiches. Sear for seconds and serve pink, with sourdough bread, a big blob of horseradish and a handful of watercress for a delicious lunch, or quick dinner.
