Description

Our mutton is sourced from free-ranging heritage breeds in Yorkshire. Mutton is well known in our neck of the woods for the best quality of tender meat, having reached maturity on a rich diet on the valley tops. The fat renders down easily, and you might wish to slice into mignons or noisettes for a chef-style serving.

Shelf life: minimum 5 days.

Tasting notes:
Region:
Smallholding Farms In & Around Yorkshire

It's good to eat and enjoy mutton, showing farmers that there is a market for their flocks of mature sheep. For many years, mutton has been one of Britain's best kept culinary secrets but that's slowly changing as people embrace the quality of this meat. Our flocks forage and graze naturally, eating a mix of wild grasses, flowers, herbs, and heathers. This gives the mutton its rich, succulent taste which makes this meat such a delicacy. We want to revive the tradition of eating mutton and help more people realise that this supremely enjoyable meat should be enjoyed. Our heritage mutton is sourced from flocks of Suffolk, Swaledale, and North of England Mules.
