F&co Bbq Spice Rub

Unique to F&Co, the BBQ Rub has been crafted and refined in-house by Jeff Baker and is a must for fragrant, barbecue flavour, whether cooking over coals or on the grill. The rub is an all-rounder, bringing smoky-sweet flavour suited to beef, lamb, pork, and chicken, though it’s best used on larger joints of meat to be slow cooked. The balance of warm, aromatic flavour is by virtue of carefully picked ingredients; rounded herbs, flakes of sea salt, a light Muscovado blend of sugar, and the foundation of the rub – the gentle flavour of velvety, smoked paprika.
Rubbing meat as a preparation technique evolved from using preserving salts, and today the method is a staple of many modern cuisines. This rub has been designed to be versatile, achieved through a blend of quality ingredients that complement each other for balance, and that do not overwhelm – rather enhance - the natural quality of F&Co meat. We recommend using 30 to 40 grams per kg of meat, and using the BBQ Rub as soon as possible to ensure maximum fragrance. Store in a cool dark place.
