Any remaining can be used in a simple macaroni cheese or for a beautiful honey roast ham sandwich , a British favourite


  1. Bring ham to boil in large pot of fresh cold water.
  2. Skim off White foam and for each 450g simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. After about 1 hour 30 minutes add chopped vegetables.
  4. After 2 hours of cooking time add peppercorn and bay.
  5. Remove ham whilst still hot and place fat side up on a roasting tray.
  6. Brush with honey and stud with cloves.
  7. Place in a preheated oven 215°C for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and leave to cool.
  9. This is a great centre piece to any celebration buffet.
