Inspired by the French region of Bordeaux and their most celebrated dish, entrecôte marchand de vin, also known as entrecôte a la bordelaise: rib steak cooked in a rich gravy made from Bordeaux wine, this Valentine's Day box encapsulates the French tradition of romanticising food. In France, food is a pleasure, with no guilt, and no limitations. Food is simply enjoyed, slowly. Developed by our Michelin-starred chef, Jeff Baker, this box is designed for fine dining at home, without the fuss, perfect for impressing your loved one. At the heart of the selection is one of our finest cuts, the 32 day dry aged sirloin chop, left on the bone and boasting natural fat for full flavour. Sourced from our small network of grass-fed beef farmers, this is British beef at its best. The box is complete with our luxurious gratin dauphinois, made with layers upon layers of finely sliced Koffmann potatoes, creamy buttery sauce and a layer of gruyere cheese, not to mention our rich red wine jus and Sublime bearnaise butter to finish. Serve alongside your favourite red wine and lit candles for a special Valentines Day dinner.

About the cut

Sirloin Steak

Sirloin comes from the French "sur la longe" or above the loin from where it is cut. Ours are dry aged matured in our dedicated drying room, before being prepared into neat steaks. Our sirloin steaks boast the characteristic marbling that explains its reputation for taste and which to a butcher is a sign of the meat's quality, promising tenderness and flavour when cooked.
