If you're hosting a larger group for an Easter or Mother's Day celebration, our free-range carvery leg of lamb is the perfect option. With the presentation bone included but the bulk of the meat boned out by our master butcher, it makes for easy and impressive carving. Stuffed with a generous portion of Sublime garlic and herb butter to baste the meat while cooking, before being tied together for a classic roast, this joint lends itself to being roasted on the BBQ. As always, our lamb is sourced from our small network of local farmers, who rear their free-range flocks slowly and naturally. Expect subtle floral flavour and sweet tender meat as a result of the grass our lambs have grazed on. Serve with our f&co mint sauce or a sweet peppered salsa.

About the cut
A staple of British butchery trade, essential to preparing a good lamb leg is ensuring the meat is of the highest quality. We source from farms that have been producing lamb in the Dales and Fells for generations, with proven consistency. That makes for the best meat, with ample fat cover but lean texture. This succulent half leg of lamb is carefully cut and trimmed by hand for a neat joint of flavoursome meat.

It's good to eat and enjoy heritage breed meat, showing farmers that there is a market for their herds and flocks and encourage them to rear them. Without a demand for their meat, many breeds would die out altogether. When intensive farming reigned unchallenged in the second half of the last century, many of our traditional breeds all but disappeared because they don't take kindly to factory farming. We want to change this and help more people realise that we need to safeguard the natural diversity of our farm animals and to demand meat with intrinsic flavour that comes from higher welfare systems. All of our meat fits that bill perfectly.
