Description

Bring the bold, smoky flavours of Latin America to your table with our Latin American Spiced Picanha Joint - a cut revered across Brazil and beyond for its rich flavour and signature fat cap that caramelises beautifully when roasted or grilled. We've taken this traditional favourite and given it a vibrant twist, hand-rubbing each joint with a punchy blend of garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, and chillies.

As it cooks, the seasoning forms a tantalising crust while the interior remains mouthwateringly tender and juicy. Slice thin against the grain and serve with charred vegetables, chimichurri, or wrapped in warm tortillas for a Latin-style sharing experience that's as joyful as it is delicious.

Shelf life: minimum 6 days.

Ingredients: beef (93%), vegetable oils (rapeseed, sunflower), vegetables (bell pepper, onion, galric), salt, spices (pepper, jalapeno pepper, chillies, cumin), maltodextrin, natural flavourings, paprika concentrate, smoked maltodextrin, herbs.

For allergens, including cereals containing gluten, see ingredients in bold.

Manufactured on a site which handles milk, egg, soya, mustard, sesame, celery, fish & sulphites.

How to cook Latin American Spiced Picahna Joint

For the ultimate Latin-inspired feast, slice the Picanha thinly against the grain after resting to preserve its tenderness. Pair with grilled corn, roasted sweet potato wedges, and a zesty avocado and tomato salad. For a more relaxed gathering, layer the sliced beef into warm tortillas with pickled red onions and a dollop of sour cream or lime crema for an irresistible street food-style experience.

About the cut

Picanha Joint

Also known as the Rump Cap Joint, a British butcher would sooner turn the rump cap into rump steaks with little fat covering. In South America it's a different story, and thankfully this masterpiece is increasingly in demand. The picanha is the prime cut in Argentina, with the thick fat covering left on to offer supreme flavour. Our picanaha joints are all dry age matured to concentrate the flavours, and ensure melting tenderness.

Tasting notes:
Region:
Smallholding Farms In & Around Yorkshire

It's good to eat and enjoy heritage breed meat from British breeds, showing farmers that there is a market for their herds and flocks and encourage them to rear them. Without a demand for their meat, many breeds would die out altogether. When intensive farming reigned unchallenged in the second half of the last century, many of our traditional breeds all but disappeared because they don't take kindly to factory farming. We want to change this and help more people realise that we need to safeguard the natural biodiversity of our farm animals and to demand meat with intrinsic flavour that comes from higher welfare systems. All of our meat fits that bill perfectly.
