Sangak Bread By Arabica

In Persian, 'sangak' means little stone, and the name for this bread comes from a history of Persian soldiers coming together with a small quantity of pebbles to create the 'sangak oven', where they would bake enough bread for the entire army. This traditional Iranian flatbread is encrusted with sesame seeds, handmade and baked on a bed of small river stones in the oven. Once the bread of the Persian army is now a staple of your summer barbecue. Pair with bavette steaks, perfect for thinly slicing, and load up on your favourite yogurt dips, seasonal salad as part of a meze feast.

To reheat splash with a little water and place under a hot grill for a minute or onto a BBQ for a few seconds on each side until subtle with nicely charred edges.
