Whole duck as it should be: Succulent, satisfying and rich. Perfect for roasting whole and glazing as a special centrepiece, it’s easy to tell these birds are free range from the stand out flavour that is only possible when the birds live naturally, outside and on a diet nature intended.
Please note, due to seasonality on the very odd occasion this product might have to be dispatched previously frozen. We will always advise you in advance if this is the case and you can cancel your order if preferred. Please note, the duck is dispatched frozen and defrosts en route to you - it cannot be refrozen. Consume within 24 hours after defrosting. Please make sure the duck is thoroughly defrosted before cooking.
Our ducks are sourced from small, traditional poultry farms, where they mature slowly to yield the best meat on rich diets. The difference in quality with mass produced duck is often dramatic, with this poultry ordinarily reserved for the restaurant trade because of its superior flavour.
A whole roast duck always feels like a treat with its crispy skin and full flavoured, satisfying meat. Fruity sauces especially cherry and orange suit it well. Leftover duck fat can be used to make fantastic roast potatoes and rosti. Boil up the carcass with vegetables and herbs to make a particularly tasty stock.
