These thin slices of Sirloin are perfect for steak sandwiches with the flavour and texture of our prime native breed beef promising ultimate eating quality. Carefully sliced by our Master Butchers from grass fed beef that’s dry age matured for outstanding eating, this steak is ideal for mid week meals or special treats, lending themselves to frying or griddling.
Sirloin Sandwich Steaks are cut from the ‘vein end' of the strip loin, at the opposite side to the Sirloin Steak, and closer to the rump. The result is intensity of flavour, as well as good marbling, which melts when cooked for better tenderness. Cutting these steaks requires skill to get just the right level of thickness: too thin and it won't have enough bite, too thick and it won't sear as well.
Less prized than the Sirloin Steak, the Sirloin Sandwich Steak is a good introduction to the quality of our grass fed beef. These thin slices of prime beef are ideal served in sandwiches. Sear for seconds and serve pink in a steak sandwich, with sourdough bread, a big blob of horseradish and a handful of watercress for a delicious lunch, or quick dinner.
